Made of Steel
Terrance Dicks Made of Steel is the first Doctor Who book to feature the Tenth Doctor's new companion Martha Jones. As the title suggests, the two are locked in a deadly battle against the cold-hearted Cybermen.
Made of Steel is also the second book in the Doctor who Quick Reads series, the first being I Am A Dalek, and hence this paperback has just 112 pages of fairly large type.
Author Terrance Dicks was involved with the original classic BBC series of Doctor Who both as a script editor, and in turning television scripts into novels for Target Books.
The Cybermen take on the army and the Doctor in a struggle to open up the Void that television viewers saw the Doctor close at the end of Series Two.
Sting of the Zygons
Stephen Cole pits the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones against the shape-shifting Zygons as the Tardis lands them in the year 1909 in the spectacular Lake District countryside.
A country village is gripped by fear as a terrifying scale-covered alien monster dubbed the Beast of Westmoreland roams the fells. No lesser mortal than King Edward VII himself arrives to stalk this malevolent quarry.
When the monster turns to hunt his pursuers the Doctor and Martha must rescue the King and save the planet.
Wooden Heart
Martin Day's Wooden Heart features the Tenth Doctor and companion Martha Jones.
Something has happened to the crew of the great starship Castor, now drifting deep in space.
Exploring the interior of this mysterious craft, The Doctor and Martha discover a strange fogbound woodland enveloping a village devastated by the loss of its missing children.
The Last Dodo
Martha Jones and the 10th Doctor feature in Jacqueline Rayner's The Last Dodo.
The Museum of the Last Ones is the right place for the Doctor to find a living dodo, since it collects the last example of every living species to preserve in suspended animation.
The only problem is, the Museum would like to add the last of the Time Lords to its collection too.
