Background to the Tenth Doctor
As the Ninth Doctor absorbed the energies of a time vortex he suffered cellular damage resulting in his regeneration into the Tenth Doctor.
In the television series The Tenth Doctor is played by David Tennant. His companion for Series Two was Rose Tyler, played on screen by Billie Piper. For Series Three in 2007 the 10th Doctor has a new companion in Martha Jones, the actress Freema Agyeman.
Tenth Doctor Who books stand independently and can therefore be enjoyed in any order, although references are made to former Doctors and their adventures.
